Letter from MGA President Tim Townsend

Dear Lake Chesdin Member:

The goal of the MGA is to bring the golfers of the club together through both golf and social activities. A membership is only as strong as its members, so we encourage everyone to come out and play with the MGA during the weekend or a scheduled event.

I am pleased to announce this year’s MGA tournaments. This year’s MGA events are as follows:
· March 18- MGA Opening Day Event
· April 22-23- Member-Member Event
· May 20-21- Lake Chesdin Cup Matches (Ryder Cup Team Format)
· June 10-11- 6-6-6 Event
· September 28-30- Member-Guest Event
· October 20-22- Club Championship
· November 11-12- Season Ending Member-Member Event

We have added one event this year and we are moving the Member-Guest to cooler temperatures in September. More details about this years events will be announced as they grow near.

Another major area of focus in 2006 will be communication. In order to keep up our MGA members up to date on what’s going on at the club, we have created a news posting site at http://lakechesdinmga.blogspot.com. Also, if you haven’t had a chance to give us your email address yet, please send your email address to Tim Seaton at tim.seaton@vitasoy-usa.com. These will be the two main forms of communication for the MGA.

The cost of 2006 MGA dues will remain the same at $75.00. The MGA dues collected at Lake Chesding go to help offset some of the miscellenous costs associated with some of the MGA events and activities. Unlike other private clubs, the MGA at Lake Chesdin manages all MGA events not Club Link. To help us with the budgeting process, it’s important for the MGA to get this years dues by April 1, 2006. Please make out your check out to the Lake Chesdin MGA and drop them off at the club to Joe Beck’s attention.

In closing, I am excited about this year’s events and look forward to teeing it up with you often!
